Wolfenstein 2: The New Colossus - How To Play An "Alternative" Wolf 3D | Easter Egg Guide

Check out a twisted, playayble alternate-reality version of the original Wolfenstein 3D in Wolfenstein: The New Colossus.

As if the world wasn’t bad enough already in Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, the Nazi war-machine are taking over our video games too. In Wolfenstein: The New Order, our hero BJ can relive (and replay) levels from the original Wolf 3D, a primitive shooter that popularized the FPS genre. That particular Easter egg is back in The New Colossus, with a villainous twist — instead of fighting Nazis, the Nazis are the heroes.

Called “Wolfstone 3D”, BJ can access and play the Easter egg arcade cabinet whenever he takes a return trip to the game’s hub location. It’s just like the original FPS hit, but with a few massive, Nazi-centric changes. You play as a new protagonist, and much of the in-game graphics have been totally revamped for this alternate universe, evil version. In the world of Wolfenstein: The New Colossus, won’t be shooting German soldiers, that’s for sure. Learn all about the Easter egg with the guide below.

How To Play An “Alternative” Wolf 3D | Easter Egg Guide

The Wolf 3D Easter egg from The New Order returns in The New Colossus. Instead of a “nightmare”, BJ can play the original game with revamped graphics in the hub location.

  • How to Play Wolfstone 3D:
    • Go to Club Kreissau in the Eva’s Hammer hub. You can access this area whenever you return between missions. This is a full, complete version of the game. You can save / load and select any of the 6 re-skinned episodes.

Because the Nazis now rule, this is the alternate universe version of Wolf 3D, produced quite a few years before that game — but then again, this is a universe with giant robots and reanimated dogs, so maybe video game technology took a huge leap forward.

As you play, BJ is wowed by the “realistic” graphics of the super-old FPS. In the game, you’ll be able to play levels as a Nazi Agent, shooting anarchist rebels. For playing, you’ll unlock the “Retro” achievement / trophy.
