Luckily for all of us Squishmallow fans across the Atlantic, plenty of these are available on eBay. You’ll pay a premium, but that’s a reality all collectors have to face occasionally.

Note that US McDonald’s employees will have no idea what you’re talking about if you show up or call looking for Squishmallows. They’ve got their hands full with the yearly Boo Bucket selection, which is available now.

The obvious charm of these Squishmallows has captivated people all around the world. Given their success in the United Kingdom and Ireland, it’s puzzling that they haven’t crossed the ocean yet. Some think it’s because of licensing agreements, while others think it’s a purposeful strategy to create demand.

Meanwhile, as fans in the United States wait in anticipation, local craftspeople and toy producers may see an opportunity. Perhaps this will inspire the invention of unique Halloween plush toys, filling the hole created by the disappearance of Squishmallows. As Halloween approaches, stuffed toy enthusiasts may want to check out local festivals or craft fairs for unique, handcrafted options.
