Battleborn Gameplay Footage Showcases First-Person Combat

This is the first footage of Gearbox's upcoming MOBA, Battleborn.

Gearbox has a new game in store for fans of the MOBA genre. Players familiar with DOTA and League of Legends should feel right at home with the game, which is titled Battleborn. Originally announced as an “intergalactic first-person battle arena,” the game borrows its mechanical concepts like killing creeps and leveling up from traditional MOBAs while being set in the first-person.

The first gameplay footage of Battleborn has emerged, showing off the game’s combat for the first time ever. There’s even previews of the game’s skill tree and equipment system.

Unlike traditional MOBAs, Battleborn comes with a set narrative campaign in which players can progress through across multiple co-op missions—it’s a bit like Left 4 Dead. Alternatively, players can battle each other in two teams of five through the game’s Incursion mode, which is PVP.

Battleborn comes out on the PC, Xbox One and PlayStation 4 in 2015.
